Position Summary
As a Branch Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of a full-service bank branch, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively. You will be a results-driven leader, focused on driving the growth and profitability of the branch by achieving new business sales goals, with a particular emphasis on generating new consumer loans, as well as mortgage and commercial loan referrals. A key part of your role will be developing a strong sales and consultative culture within your team. You will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing your staff through training and other professional development opportunities, delegating day-to-day operations to allow you to focus on business development and representing the bank at civic and community functions. You will also be responsible for building relationships with an affiliate insurance agency to generate new business leads. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee and direct all branch activities to ensure profitability and operational efficiency. Generate new consumer, mortgage, and commercial loans to achieve annual goals. Address customer banking needs related to new and existing accounts. Generate leads for an affiliate insurance agency as assigned. Confer with customers and local businesses to assess their current needs and promote expanded services. Promote and cross-sell bank products and services, such as checking, savings, IRAs, and Certificates of Deposit, tailored to customer requirements. Develop plans for the efficient use of internal resources, equipment, and staff. Open new accounts, process initial deposits, and ensure all new accounts are handled correctly. Approve checks within your authority level. Accept loan and credit card applications. Participate in the recruiting and hiring process for branch staff. Set employee goals and regularly evaluate performance. Provide ongoing training and professional development to employees. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, you should have the following qualifications: Competencies Change Management: Effectively communicate change, build commitment, overcome resistance, and monitor results. Quality: Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Look for ways to improve and promote quality in all aspects of your work. Education/Experience A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Three to five years of related experience, preferably in a management or lead role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a financial institution and a working knowledge of banking principles is strongly preferred. Must be able to make independent decisions and solve problems within bank policy and compliance guidelines.
