Location: 861 Wharf Street, Richmond, California 94804 United States Starting Pay: $24.23 – $25.23/hour Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire Schedule: Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities Monitor and operate track switches to ensure proper alignment for railcar movement. Inspect track conditions and switch points to identify issues affecting safe operation. Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars as part of train assembly or disassembly. Replace damaged or broken railcar connectors (approximately 75 lbs). Communicate with train crews and yard personnel to ensure coordinated rail movements. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain awareness of surroundings and potential hazards in a high-traffic rail environment. Qualifications 2-3 years of rail experience desired Switching or conductor experience preferred Valid driver’s license Ability to always follow safety requirements and practices Reliable, punctual and a strong work ethic Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to climb ladders and stairs both off and on railcars Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening Note: The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations. Cannabis use is strictly prohibited. If applicable, you will have to pass a drug screen.
