Mustang Cat, the authorized Caterpillar® dealer for Southeast Texas, is hiring a Heavy Equipment Welder to perform welding repairs and fabrication on light and heavy construction equipment at our Houston, TX facility. This role is ideal for skilled welders who take pride in precision craftsmanship and are ready to work with a leader in construction and power systems equipment.

What You’ll Do as a Heavy Equipment Welder

• Perform various types of welding fabrication and repairs on Caterpillar machinery and components
• Conduct disassembly and assembly of equipment, ensuring precision and durability
• Read and interpret blueprints and bend allowances to execute custom fabrication
• Operate arc welding, MIG welding, arc gouging, and oxyacetylene torches
• Follow fabrication procedures and safety protocols to maintain high-quality standards
• Complete light machine work and assist in related service tasks as required

Position Requirements

• Must own proper tools to perform necessary repairs
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Associate’s degree or certificate from a technical school preferred
• Certified Welder with proven experience in:
• Welding fabrication
• Arc and MIG welding
• Metal cutting and torch use
• Blueprint interpretation and fabrication layout
• Previous mechanic work or military experience preferred
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Strong technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting abilities

Strongly Preferred Experience

• Experience quoting jobs or assisting with estimates
• Technical experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors
• Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or heavy machinery service
