Description:

The Dialysis Technician is responsible for direct patient care. Direct patient care includes performance of basic hemodialysis techniques and procedures, daily patient care and observations under the direct supervision and guidance of a registered nurse. The Technician will be required to travel to and from hospitals managed by the company.

To be successful as a Dialysis Technician, you should be compassionate toward patients and able to handle stressful situations. Ultimately, an exceptional Dialysis Technician should have an excellent bedside manner, and demonstrate outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

· Checking and recording patients’ vitals before, during, and after dialysis treatment.

· Ensuring that hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments are administered to patients correctly.

· Monitoring patients during dialysis treatment to identify any adverse reactions.

· Perform thorough assessments and verification of dialysis prescription.

· Promptly notifying the appropriate medical practitioner of any problems that occur during dialysis treatments.

· Working with the dialysis team to ensure that dialysis machines and equipment are set up and tested correctly.

· Educating patients on dialysis treatment options, kidney disease management, as well as suitable nutrition and exercise regimens.

Requirements:

Accreditation from a Dialysis Technician program

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Current BLS Certification

· Prior experience working as a Dialysis Technician

· Excellent communication and time-management skills with ability to work independently

· Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance.

· Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job function (Word, Excel, Outlook and EMR software)

· Current Automobile insurance coverage

· Workable knowledge of Medicare criteria and standards
