Job Opportunity: Seasonal Chef at a Remote Wilderness Lodge – Chilko Lake, BC

Are you a passionate chef who loves the outdoors? We’re seeking a  full-time, seasonal Chef to join our remote wilderness lodge on the stunning  Chilko Lake, BC, Canada . About the Lodge:

Our lodge specializes in  fly fishing, horseback riding, and wildlife photography , welcoming up to 14 guests at a time with a close-knit team of 10 staff . We operate on a  family-style dining concept , creating a warm and communal atmosphere where guests and staff come together over delicious, thoughtfully prepared meals.

The Role:

As our  Chef , you’ll take charge of our  small, open kitchen , ensuring it remains clean, organized, and running efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving  hot, beautifully plated or family style meals in a timely manner.
• Keeping the  kitchen and food storage areas clean, organized, and properly sanitized at all times.
• Ordering Inventory and Maintaining an  efficient and well-stocked workspace .
• Engaging with guests and staff, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys  creating high-quality meals in a scenic, remote setting . Your interpersonal skills are just as important as your culinary expertise— a friendly, engaging personality is key , as you’ll play an important role in the lodge experience.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Chef, preferably in a  wilderness lodge or remote setting .
• A  strong work ethic, adaptability, and organizational skills .
• A passion for cooking  hearty, family-style meals .
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a  guest-focused attitude .
• Ability to  lift at least 50 lbs and work in a  physically demanding environment.
• Knowledge of  gardening is a plus—we maintain a small herb and lettuce garden.
• A love for the outdoors! Hobbies like  hiking, fly fishing, or horseback riding are a bonus.

Requirements:

• Must be a  Canadian citizen or hold a valid Canadian work visa .
