Position Title: 6th Grade Math and Science Teacher
Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and committed educator to join our vibrant academic team as a 6th Grade Math and Science Teacher. This role focuses on implementing inquiry-based learning strategies to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and active engagement among students. The successful candidate will design dynamic, hands-on lessons that align with state standards and encourage students to explore key mathematical and scientific concepts through collaboration and problem-solving.
Design and deliver inquiry-driven lesson plans in Math and Science that meet curriculum guidelines and state standards.
Foster an engaging, student-centered classroom environment that promotes exploration, questioning, and discovery.
Guide students through investigations, experiments, and project-based learning experiences to develop scientific reasoning and mathematical understanding.
Implement differentiated instruction to support the varying learning styles and abilities of all students.
Encourage active student participation, discussion, and teamwork to build a collaborative classroom culture.
Assess student learning through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive and timely feedback.
Incorporate technology and digital tools to support and enhance inquiry-based teaching methods.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom where all students are empowered to learn and grow.
Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and school leadership to support student development and academic progress.
Engage in ongoing professional learning and development to remain current with best practices in STEM education and inquiry-based instruction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a closely related field.
Valid teaching certification as required by the state
Demonstrated experience teaching 6th-grade Math and Science with a strong understanding of STEM and inquiry-based methodologies.
Proven ability to develop engaging, hands-on lessons that inspire student curiosity and critical thinking.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.
Genuine enthusiasm for working with middle school students and promoting a growth mindset.
